WP3: Transcriptomic analyses with NGS technologies (RNA-Seq)

With the development of NGS technologies, transcripts levels for key genes have become a powerful tool for fine phenotyping. The objective will be to provide marker genes, which could be used to characterize the fruit quality traits of sweet cherry cultivars. This technology could be higher throughput than the classical forcing tests used until now. Furthermore, we will produce a reference Unigene set (for PDO cultivar Tragana Edessis) from 15 different plant tissues for the easily availability to researchers, nor quantitative gene expression profiles, because of library normalization.
